Some stories of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.

A chocolate boy figure, singing “Mere Umar Ke Naujawano Dil Naa Lagana O Deewano” made everyone’s heart throb back then in 1970s and 80s. His charm and charismatic nature made everyone go crazy. India’s one of the most popular actors. This legend worked in all of his ages. Starting from his teen, being an adult and then a senior actor, with all his hard work he gave indian cinema a huge share.

He came from a long line of Bollywood actors. His grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor was a pioneer of Indian theater and film who founded a traveling theater company. His father, Raj Kapoor, was one of the most influential actors and directors in Hindi cinema. Although being their son he made name for himself. His first hit was ‘Bobby’ debuting with Dimple Kapadiya. His aura grabbed crowd’s attention and he became star. With his acting he gave people reason to smile. Born in Bollywood’s first family, he was rightly called torch-bearer of a huge legacy whose contribution to the film industry is unparalleled. Rishi Kapoor was asked that whether this legacy was burden to him and does he feel he has successfully carried away the family’s history to the future he answered ” I gave indian cinema all my life, for more than about 55 years and now you have to tell me whether i have accomplished it or not” Man with actions and not words.

 Rishi kapoor’s first big screen appearance was in the song “Pyaar Hua, Iqraar Hua” from 1955 release Shri 420. He was three years And then he  played a young Raj Kapoor in Mera Naam Joker.He won the National Award for Best Child Artist for his work in Mera Naam Joker. The actor had rocked it in his fir appearances itself.

Did you know? Rishi kapoor once stated that he was landed in Bobby by default. There was a misconception that the film was made to launch him as an actor. The film was actually made to pay the debts of Mera Naam Joker. Raj Kapoor ji wanted to make a love story and he did not have money to cast superstar Rajesh Khanna in the film. So story was converted to a teenage love story and Rishi kapoor was casted. And there started the amazing journey of this veteran actor.

Rishi kapoor was very much naughty since his childhood and coming into his adult age with being ladies man he was in lot of rumours of dating his co actors. One of them was Neetu Singh. He said he only wanted to date Neetu singh nothing more but his realisation of love for her had turn into tying knots with her. They happily got married and later had children, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor to complete the family. Rishi kapoor said all the time that his wife deserves a medal for sticking with him for lifetime.

Interestingly, in one scene of Amar Akbar Anthony, Rishi mistakenly called Neetu Singh by her real name. However, the mistake was deliberately left uncorrected and goof-up can still be seen in the movie.

Rishi sir was lovingly called Chintu by his colleagues. But he also had another nickname,a Nigerian nickname “Mace,” which means woman. And, it’s not hard to guess why. He often dressed as a woman in many of his movies.Actor never any opportunity let go. Real Star.

The autobiography of the actor has been titled as Khullam Khulla. Rishi Kapoor Uncensored and it was launched on 15th January 2017. Khullan Khulla is named after the hit song that Kapoor had with his wife He wanted people to know how and why he has been till here. Surely a great inspiration for all his fans.

Actor, from 1970 to 2000 did 92 movies and many more in these 2 decades. Surprisingly, he has also done two british movies – Don’t Stop Dreaming and Sambar Salsa. In hindi movies, he was offered to play the lead role in movie “Dar” the actor did not wanted to play a negative role that time and hence refused and suggested Shah Rukh Khan as the lead role. Well Shah Rukh Khan should thank Rishi Kapoor sir as ‘Dar’ had hit blockbuster. Rishi Kapoor never gave up in trying all he could do and he had also directed movie “Aa ab Laut Chale” Starring Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bacchan. Rishi kapoor’s last movie was ‘Body’ co staring Imran Hashmi.

Born in September 1952 , Chembur, Mumbai. Legend took his last breath in April 2020 Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai. In 2018, he was diagnosed with a form of cancer .Although, the 67-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital and after 2 year long battle with leukemia, he passed away.

“Har ishq ka ek waqt hota hai. Vo humara waqt nahi tha. Par iska matlab ye nahi ke vo ishq nahi tha ” His dialogues has special place in our hearts. Rishi kapoor was a versatile actor and proved his brilliance by ruling Hindi Film Industry for decades. There will be no gem like him. May his soul rest in peace.

Taare Zameen Par – Taare zameen par has a special place in everyone’s heart. This movie has created the history. Aamir Khan’s performance was outstanding. The movie delivers an important message – that every child is special to normalising a disorder like “Dyslexia” . This movie is full of emotions, and the character of Ishaan played by Darsheel Safary was phenomenal!

Chhalaang – Chhalaang allows us to relive memories from one of the most loved classes from our school i.e Pt period. In this movie, Rajkumar Rao portrays the character of a Pt teacher. This movie is really amazing, and the performance of Rajkumar is beyond outstanding. Chhalaang hits the blockbuster in the OTT platform.

Hichki – Hichki revolves around the story of a teacher played by Rani Mukherjee, with tourette syndrome, undoubtedly this movie teaches us many lessons – like how one can turn the weakness into the biggest strength. This movie is extremely beautiful and endearing to everyone. Hichki movie depicts many memories related to school life, where one can totally get lost in the nostalgia of school days.

Recently, in diwali times “Riteish ” has set an example for all of us. Riteish Deshmukh recycled his mother old saree and make new outfits for him and his two sons!! Since, the day he posted the video in social media, people has been praising him enormously. Riteish has celebrated diwali in unique way, instead of buying new clothes, the actor recycled his mother’s old saree to make kurtas. Really, Riteish made a statement in this diwali. Recycling old sarees is not just the only thing, but old sarees passed on from generation to generation.
