THE WHIRLWIND LOVE STORY OF ALIA AND RANBIR

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are the cutest and hottest couple in Bollywood, and the soon-to-be parents have been in the spotlight for their fairytale love story since their relationship began in 2018. Fans and paparazzi can’t get enough of this power couple. Whether bestowing the cute moniker “RALIA,” documenting their sweet love story, or impatiently awaiting the birth of the Baby Kapoor, everyone has been completely smitten with them. And it’s easy to see why: just look at how their eyes meet each other at every opportunity or the way they both make each other laugh!
But aren’t you folks curious as to how this fairytale came to be? Let’s dive in and discover why these two were destined to be together…
ALIA HAD CRUSHIES ON RANBIR SINCE SHE WAS 11
Yes, that is absolutely right! Alia first met Ranbir when she was eleven years old. Ranbir was 20 years old when he worked as an assistant director on the film ‘black’ by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Alia was called in for a screen test for a role in the film. Director Bhansali, on the other hand, noticed something unusual and magical about her and wanted her to “save for something bigger.” Sanjay requested that photographs be taken of both Alia and Ranbir. Alia was so shy that she rested her head on Ranbir’s shoulders, which Sanjay photographed, framed, and gave to her on her birthday.

It was later revealed that the photo shoot was for the film ‘Balika Vadhu,’ which was never shot and released! The framed picture went viral after fans saw it in a YouTube video of Alia’s 30 Days Gangubai promotion, which was later removed from her channel. However, Ali’s crazed fans took screenshots of the frame which was kept on her shelf, and everyone went crazy over the couple’s cuteness!
During a promotional event for her 2014 film Highway, Alia spoke about the film and the shoot. She claimed that Bhansali sensed special chemistry even back then. “Bhansali sir was saying I was flirting with Ranbir,” she explained. The same topic was discussed by Ranbir in 2017 at the Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards. He said, “Not many people know that Alia and I were actually going to debut together when Sanjay Ji was making a film called Balika Vadhu. We had also done a photo shoot together and since then, I have been a fan of hers.”

Alia replied, “Yes, what he’s saying is correct. When I met Ranbir for the first time, I was 11 years old. He was assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali and I had to do a photoshoot with him. And I was so shy that I had to keep my head on his shoulder and I could not do it.”
PRESS CONFERENCES AND FATHER KARAN JOHAR AS THE CUPID!
You probably already know Alia’s love confessions if you’re a die-hard fan of both her and the craziest talk show in Bollywood, ‘KOFFEE WITH KARAN’. In the rapid-fire rounds, Alia has never held back from expressing her desire to marry Ranbir and her long-standing crush on him. However, it was the 2014 confession, in which she and Parineeti Chopra appeared together and it became a great smash and the subject of media frenzy.

I remember the first time I spoke to Ranbir. You (Karan Johar) called him up when Rockstar just released and you said, ‘Here, talk to Ranbir. Tell him how much you love him.’ And I spoke so much rubbish. I was just talking non-stop, and he was like, ‘Yeah, that’s very nice, Alia’,” she said.

Obviously, I have hung out with him after that,” Alia went on to say. “I still think he is really adorable. And I still want to marry him,” she added.
Not only on the talk show but also in numerous interviews and press conferences, she has admitted to having a crush on Ranbir!
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN!
Putting admissions and crushes aside, we’re truly interested in learning how this epic love story started. Alia recently made it all clearer once more on Karan’s talk show, where she was the guest along with Ranveer Singh, and Karan was discussing #Ralia’s relationship, the newlyweds’ engagement, wedding, and romance. Can you believe it all started on a flight? Yes, a flight! The couple was roped in for the film ‘Brahmastra’ by the renowned filmmaker Ayan Mukherji in December 2017. Following that, the team briefly began its workshops. The chemistry started to hit it off between the two during a flight to Tel Aviv, Israel when they got a seat next to each other. The duo was on their way to a workshop for ‘Brahamastra,’ but there was a hiccup in the plot.

“It was not meant to happen. We were not supposed to be together on New Year’s. We both talked on our flight to Tel Aviv to do a workshop for Brahmastra. We both were seated together. I remember him walking in, and he was supposed to sit next to me, and I was very excited. But then he sat next to me, and something got stuck on his seat. There was some malfunction, so they were going to move him to another seat. And I was like, why is this happening, why is my dream getting shattered? But later, his seat got fixed, and he came back,” shared Alia.

She also told Ranbir’s side of the story and added, “Later when we were exchanging notes, even he said, ‘I was getting so upset and irritated, iss seat ko abhi rukna tha when we were sitting together so nicely.’ So that vibe started there only. The rest is history.”
AWARD SHOWS, PUBLIC APPEARANCES, AND REVELATIONS!
After the chemistry began to blossom and the story began, the duo shocked the world with their first public appearance as a couple at Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s wedding. They looked stunning in their traditional Indian attire, with Alia dressed in a lemon-colored lehenga with silver embroidery and Ranbir dressed in a white and black sherwani. Ranbir revealed the truth while speaking in an interview with GQ magazine shortly after this stellar appearance, answering the nation’s burning question about what really happened. The actor had said:
“It’s really new right now, and I don’t want to overspeak. It needs time to breathe and it needs space. As an actor, as a person, Alia is – what’s the right word? – flowing right now. When I see her work, when I see her act, even in life, what she gives is something that I’m aspiring to do for myself. It’s new for us, so let it cook a bit.”

Following this very candid interview, the couple has been quite open about their romance and public appearances. But the most memorable must be at award shows. At the 2019 Zee Cine Awards, Ranbir romantically danced with Alia on her song ‘Ishq waala Love,’ leaving everyone in awe of them, and how can we forget the moment when Alia almost kissed/side kissed Ranbir when she had to accept the award for Best Actress? Alia also announced the Best Actor award, which Ranbir won for the film Sanju, saying, ‘The award for the Best Actor male goes to, my all-time favorite, Ranbir Kapoor.

The 2019 Filmfare Awards were a delight to watch, especially when Alia confessed her love for Ranbir after winning the award for best actress. After receiving the award, Alia said, “Meghna for me Raazi is you, your blood and sweat. You are my main chick. Vicky without you, the film wouldn’t be complete. Thank you my mentor Karan for being my mentor, father, and my fashion police. Tonight’s all about love there my special one, I love you (Ranbir Kapoor).” Cameras caught Ranbir blushing as Alia delivered her speech.

Remember when word spread that they were getting married? It all started when the couple was spotted at Mukesh Ambani’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at his Mumbai home. The couple looked adorable as they posed for the cameras. Alia wore a yellow floral sari with a pink blouse, and Ranbir looked stunning in a grey kurta with silver embroidery.

And how can we forget Alia and Ranbir’s well-known appearance from the previous year, when they joined their Brahmastra director Ayan Mukherji for a Diwali puja? Ranbir looked amazing as usual in a black kurta, and Ali looked lovely in a dark blue lehenga. The image of the couple romantically gazing into one other’s eyes was posted on Instagram by Alia.

Surely, the couple has the biggest and hottest style game whenever and wherever they are photographed!
ALL YOU NEED IS YOUR PARENT’s BLESSINGS!
After all of the crazy interviews, appearances, and romances, all that remains is to get the thumbs up from the parents! Mumma Neetu Kapoor appears to have liked Alia since the first time she met her during the workshops for ‘Brahmastra’. Unlike Ranbir’s exes, whom she disliked, Neetu quite liked Alia and invited her to all of the Kapoor family’s new year parties and family gatherings. Alia was frequently seen attending Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties with family members and posting pictures on social media.

Even Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt gave the couple his blessings and mentioned in an interview saying:
“Well, of course, they’re in love. You don’t need to be a genius to get that! I love Ranbir… he’s a great guy. What they do to their relationship is something they’ll have to figure out. Whether it’s heading towards that port called ‘marriage’ — which is an institution that needs to be questioned in the second decade of the 21st century — is something for them to figure out.”

Alia is undoubtedly the chosen bahu for the Kapoor parivaar!
PANDEMIC AND FIGHTING THE TOUGH TIMES TOGETHER!
When the lockdown began in late March, Alia moved into Ranbir’s luxurious apartment ‘Vastu.’ After the lockdown was activated, the couple began spending more time together and lavishly celebrated both of their birthdays. Ranbir celebrated his birthday in Jodhpur, while Ali celebrated hers in the Maldives with her family and friends.

With Rishi Kapoor’s deteriorating health, the Kapoor family was frequently traveling and staying in New York for his cancer treatment. On April 30, 2020, the legendary actor died of leukemia. Alia Bhatt was seen comforting inconsolable Neetu Kapoor while video-calling Riddhima Kapoor, who was unable to attend the funeral due to the lockdown. Throughout the journey, she stood strong with Ranbir and Neetu. She felt more at home in the Kapoor household, and even Riddhima Kapoor’s daughter Samara Sahni began affectionately referring to her as “Mami” before the wedding.

Ranbir also proved to be an excellent photographer when he captured some of Alia’s most adorable and beautiful photographs!

PROPOSAL AND FAIRYTALE WEDDING!
Remember when Alia and Ranbir went on a secret vacation to Masai Maara, Kenya? Well, it was their destination for the proposal, and Ranbir had everything planned out. He asked their guide to take their pictures because Alia adores photographs of such special occasions. and it was a yes, and the rest is history. This was all a big surprise for Alia but it turned out just the way she wanted. The proposal was quite dreamy and emotional, as both of them cried. When told that Alia blushes every time his name is mentioned in front of her, Ranbir replied, “Thank God, she blushes and that I can make her do that.”

On April 14th, the world witnessed a very beautiful and intimate wedding ceremony at their lavish ‘Vastu’ apartment. It was a four-day event attended by close friends and family. It was everything the couple wanted, with Ladke Waale taking the baraat from Krishna Raj Bundilow to the destination to take their beloved Dulhaniya. Food, dance, and decorations added a lot to their important day, and they both looked stunning in their matching Sabyasachi outfits. Alia with open hair, natural makeup, and an ivory organza Sari looked like a princess, and Ranbir in his ivory sherwani looked like a king. The reception was also held at Vastu, with Alia dressed in a short silver-colored Oscar de la Renta gown and Ranbir looking dapper in a black suit.

Ranbir and Alia had lunch before their wedding and as mentioned in ‘Koffee wiith Karan’ show, Alia said, “The day of marriage was extremely simple. I wanted it no other way. What I wanted was to stay in my house and get married in my house and I did exactly that. Just before we went, I went down to get ready, Ranbir and I had lunch together and we shook hands and said ‘Bye bye boyfriend and girlfriend’ because we longer be boyfriend and girlfriend. When the pheras began, it was extremely special, looking at all my families and friends’ happy faces and the icing on the cake was the extremely beautiful pictures.”

Ranbir’s mehendi, with a heart drawn and Alia written on the center of the heart with an infinity symbol, was one of the wedding’s highlights, as was the baratis dancing to ‘Dholida’, ‘Cutie pie’, and ‘Tenu leke main javanga’. Ranbir also wore his father’s watch to his Mehendi ceremony. Alia’s childhood friend Akanksha Ranjan could also be seen as emotional and crying during the Mehendi ceremony. Ranbir held up a photo of his father Rishi Kapoor during the sangeet performance of the Kapoor family.

BABY KAPOOR, BABYMOON, AND BRAHMASTRA!
Fans are finding it difficult to keep their cool since Alia announced her pregnancy on social media. The would-be mother is seen glowing and growing and enjoying her babymoon in Italy with her husband. Since the wedding, the couple has been tirelessly promoting their upcoming first film, ‘Brahmastra,’ which will be released on September 9.

With ‘Kesariya Tera’ and ‘Deva Deva’ already streaming and trending on all platforms since their release, fans are excited to see this beautiful married couple on screen for the first time, especially given their impeccable chemistry.

This was Alia and Ranbir’s lovely fairytale. With the release of their much-anticipated film Brahmastra, the arrival of their first child, and Alia’s intention to change her name to ‘Alia Bhatt Kapoor,’ there will be more pages added to their ‘love story.’
But for now,
KESARIYA TERA, ISHQ HAI PIYA……..
