So you were really in love?? Or you were not??

Published

on

We all share certain bonds with certain people. And friendship is such a bond where we find a mutual affection with someone irrespective of race, colour, and gender. Ever got a person with whom you eat, drink, sleep, travel and you even took breath together?? Have you ever made a bond with someone where, from a total absolute stranger to an acquaintance, to friend, to best friend, to intimate, close friend and ended up in a confusion about what next. When it comes to friendship between members of opposite sex we look upon norms we have been believing all these years. Yes, that’s what we have been grown up to. We grew up watching Monica and Chandler from Friends, Rahul and Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Aditi and Jai from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008), Sona and Aby from Niram (1999) where friendships took a romantic turn. And we believed love is indeed friendship as in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Shahrukh says “ Pyaar Dosti hai” “love is friendship” and made us fall for that classic dialogue.
All these taught us men and women can never be ‘just friends’. But do we really have to follow this or was this simply made up for some timeless romantic comedies and for those all-time blockbusters? Have you ever noticed the same on screen celebrities off screen? The same SRK – Kajol who shares the best chemistry on-screen gives many friendship goals off-screen with their strong bond. It’s said that they have always respected each other and helped during shoots. But coming up to any series or films, most of the lead male and female characters can be seen ending up in love from the bond of friends. And now if it didn’t happen, we hesitate to accept that because we expect that men and women are always on the road to romance. There are very few plots even to describe the other.
Yes it is natural to fall for the one who know you better than you know yourself than to fall for some absolute stranger. So if you fell for them it’s completely fine and normal same as if you don’t. It’s not necessary that all friendships to end up in love. And that is what ‘platonic friendships’ is all about. Platonic friendship is the friendship with no romantic element between the friends of opposite sex. Basically it will be without any sexual engagement, again it can be of same sex too. Platonic friends can provide love, care, support, a friendship that is healthy and deep .You just have to understand the boundaries and stick with them in thick and thin. And then you will see how beneficial it can be.
Psychology today interviewed Linda Sapadin, a psychologist from Valley Stream, New York, about platonic relationship and whether men and women can ever be ‘just friends’. She believes that men and women can be ‘just friends’ and the idea of them solely hanging out together with romantic intentions dates back to when women stayed home while men went out to work. The only reason for women to meet men back then was for romance. “Now they work together and share sports together” they can make friends. Its said that friends who are attracted to each other may recognize that qualities they tolerate in a friendship wouldn’t necessarily work in a serious romantic relationship. “If sex is part of dynamic, addressing it explicitly is the best strategy” for making sure the friendship survives, says Kathy Werking, at Eastern Kentucky University and author of We’re Just Good Friends. You can be attracted to your friend but beware that ‘attraction’ shouldn’t be the definition for your relationship. It’s the hormones that led to that attraction and you are more than your hormones, says Sapadin. But the moment one of them feel the attraction, there it stops being platonic. While these relationships do not work out successful for many, there are many for whom it came out successful.
Can a man and woman really be just friends? If a man and woman are friendly more than just friends then why can’t they just date or get romantic? Dealing with these doubters is a challenge that can’t be ignored. Today a cultural shift have come up where people keep their sexual involvement and friendships separate. It is another whole topic to discuss about ‘until when’ because obstacles in this kind of relations are many other than getting attracted to each other. Just know friendship between men and women is not impossible.
So how about giving a try to platonic friendship? And let’s give our future generation more opportunities than us to socialize and to celebrate life.

What is Ghost?

Published

on

Since ancient times, ghost stories—tales of spirits who return from the dead to haunt the places they left behind—have figured prominently in the folklore of many cultures around the world. A rich subset of these tales involve historical figures ranging from queens and politicians to writers and gangsters, many of whom died early, violent or mysterious deaths.

What Is a Ghost?
The concept of a ghost, also known as a specter, is based on the ancient idea that a person’s spirit exists separately from his or her body, and may continue to exist after that person dies. Because of this idea, many societies began to use funeral rituals as a way of ensuring that the dead person’s spirit would not return to “haunt” the living.
Did you know? The notorious mobster Al Capone has reportedly appeared to disrespectful visitors at his funeral plot in an Illinois cemetery. Spectral banjo music has supposedly been heard coming from inside Capone’s old cell at Alcatraz, where he was one of the first inmates.
Places that are haunted are usually believed to be associated with some occurrence or emotion in the ghost’s past; they are often a former home or the place where he or she died. Aside from actual ghostly apparitions, traditional signs of haunting range from strange noises, lights, odors or breezes to the displacement of objects, bells that ring spontaneously or musical instruments that seem to play on their own.

Early Ghost Sightings

In the first century A.D., the great Roman author and statesman Pliny the Younger recorded one of the first notable ghost stories in his letters, which became famous for their vivid account of life during the heyday of the Roman Empire. Pliny reported that the specter of an old man with a long beard, rattling chains, was haunting his house in Athens. The Greek writer Lucian and Pliny’s fellow Roman Plautus also wrote memorable ghost stories.
Centuries later, in 856 A.D., the first poltergeist–a ghost that causes physical disturbances such as loud noises or objects falling or being thrown around–was reported at a farmhouse in Germany. The poltergeist tormented the family living there by throwing stones and starting fires, among other things.

Three Famous Historical Ghosts

One of the most frequently reported ghost sightings in England dates back to the 16th century. Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII and mother of Queen Elizabeth I, was executed at the Tower of London in May 1536 after being accused of witchcraft, treason, incest and adultery. Sightings of Boleyn’s ghost have been reported at the tower as well as in various other locations, including her childhood home, Hever Castle, in Kent.
America’s own rich tradition of historical ghosts begins with one of its most illustrious founding fathers: Benjamin Franklin. Beginning in the late 19th century, Franklin’s ghost was seen near the library of the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; some reports held that the statue of Franklin in front of the society comes to life and dances in the streets.
Though many ghost sightings have been reported at the White House in Washington, D.C., over the years, perhaps no political figure has made so frequent an appearance in the afterlife as Abraham Lincoln, the nation’s 16th president, who was killed by an assassin’s bullet in April 1865. Lincoln, formerly a lawyer and congresseman from Illinois, is said to have been seen wandering near the old Springfield capitol building, as well as his nearby law offices. At the White House, everyone from first ladies to queens to prime ministers have reported seeing the ghost or feeling the presence of Honest Abe–particularly during the administration of Franklin D. Roosevelt, another president who guided the country through a time of great upheaval and war.

Haunted Places

Some locations simply seem to lend themselves to hauntings, perhaps due to the dramatic or grisly events that occurred there in the past. Over the centuries, sightings of spectral armies have been reported on famous battlefields around the world, including important battle sites from the English Civil War in the 17th century, the bloody Civil War battlefield of Gettsyburg and the World War I sites of Gallipoli (near Turkey) and the Somme (northern France).
Another particularly active center for paranormal activity is the HMS Queen Mary, a cruise ship built in 1936 for the Cunard-White Star Line. After serving in the British Royal Navy in World War II, the 81,000-ton ship retired in Long Beach, California in 1967; the plan was to turn it into a floating luxury hotel and resort. Since then, the Queen Mary has become notorious for its spectral presences, with more than 50 ghosts reported over the years. The ship’s last chief engineer, John Smith, reported hearing unexplained sounds and voices from the area near the ship’s bow, in almost the same location as a doomed British aircraft cruiser, the Coracoa, had pierced a hole when it sank after an accidental wartime crash that killed more than 300 sailors aboard. Smith also claimed to have encountered the ghost of Winston Churchill–or at least his spectral cigar smoke–n the prime minister’s old stateroom aboard the ship. Many visitors to the Queen Mary have reported seeing a phantom crewmember in blue overalls walking the decks. Around the ship’s swimming pool, reports have been made of mysterious splashes and ghostly women in old fashioned bathing suits or dresses, along with trails of wet footsteps appearing long after the pool had been drained.
Among major cities, New York is especially rich with ghost stories. The spirit of Peter Stuyvesant, the city’s last Dutch colonial governor, has been seen stomping around the East Village on his wooden leg since shortly after his death in 1672. The author Mark Twain is believed to haunt the stairwell of his onetime Village apartment building, while the ghost of poet Dylan Thomas is said to sometimes occupy his usual corner table at the West Village’s White Horse Tavern, where he drank a fatal 18 shots of scotch in 1953. Perhaps the most famous New York ghost is that of Aaron Burr, who served as vice president under Thomas Jefferson but is best known for killing Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804. Burr’s ghost is said to roam the streets of his old neighborhood (also the West Village). Burr’s spectral activity is focused particularly on one restaurant, One if By Land, Two if By Sea, which is located in a Barrow Street building that was once Burr’s carriage house.

Published

on

Anxiety, stress, depression are the guests in our day today life. Talking truly they have ruined our life completely. The everyday chaos seems to be burden and the responsibilities as hell. Which is why more people than ever before turned towards the search for the inner peace.
Finding inner peace is not much difficult but not easy tho. Efforts are essential for getting permit towards the inner peace. Eventually the inner peace is closely related to the happiness. Inner peace is the lubricant for the inner mechanism, the lubricant helps the machine to work efficiently, eventually it makes the machine smooth and increases its life.

“THE PURSUIT OF INNER PEACE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS OR SUCCESS.” –CHRIS SHEA

WHAT IS INNER PEACE?
Inner peace refers to a deliberate state of psychological or spiritual calm despite the potential presence of stressors such as the burden arising from pretending to be someone else could disrupt inner peace. Being “at peace” is considered by many to be healthy and the opposite of being stressed or anxious, and is considered to be a state where our mind performs at an optimal level with a positive outcome. Peace of mind is thus generally associated inner heaven.

Many of us have built the hell inside us, where we are currently living. Just we are here to impress the society and under the burden of fake virtuality. Although we ourselves can build the inner heaven and live in the joy and life would be more graceful. Through the inner peace the, genuine world can be achieved. In this world the individual responsibilities are quite clear; an atmosphere of the peace is more fertile for inner growth. Gradually this environment would be adopted by our families, our communities and ultimately the whole planet.
The short story about the peace will amaze you. Once in   country the painting competition was arranged. The artist over the world participated in the contest. Theme of the contest was peace. Many painters painted the beautiful painting which shows the reflection of the peace. Among them 3 best painting were chosen by experts.
The first painting was amazing. There was magnificent nature scene. The beautiful mountains, blue peaceful sky, stream flowing down the way and much more. Possibly it was the perfect example to reflect the peace. Second painting was having the blue water frozen lake, tress, bushes and peaceful situation. All painters were amazed by seeing these 2 paintings.
In the third painting there was a hut, a wind mill and normal landscape with high wind, eventually the storm situation. Seems to be normal painting but all thought this painting doesn’t reflect the peace, there were no peaceful vibes comig out of it. All of them thought it was mistake made by the expert.
At last the experts declared that painting as one of the best in contest. It was awarded the peaceful painting ever. All artist and other people in there, got shocked. Later on the expert said them to observe the painting carefully. None of them got any clue. Later on the expert said “you see a hut in painting, there is a small window and a girl peeking out. Can you see a smile on her face despite of the what happening outside . She is happy and enjoying every situation in life with positive attitude. That’s called real peace”.

This situation tells us that whatever happens outside in the world doesn’t matter if you are peaceful from inside. The outer hell can’t affect your inner heaven. The choice is yours what you build inside for you .
